My name is Walker Reiss, and I'm a multidisciplinary graphic designer, photographer, and visual artist located in Chicago, Illinois.
Currently, I work as a graphic designer and email marketing designer at foryourparty.com, in addition to a variety of freelance and personal projects.
Product Design
Selections of product designs I've made for ForYourParty. I create illustrative cliparts and trendy layouts that clients can then use to have high-quality, professional party accessories for their major events.
Marketing Email Design
A selection of marketing emails designed for ForYourParty. Emails highlight new collections or real events featuring company product. I write the copy and create original illustrations for these emails.
Building Cards
These are experiments to try to capture the spare nature of places in Chicago in an illustrative manner. I think of Chicago as a place with a lot of sky and a lot of space, which comes to the fore in this series.
Photography
A selection of photographs in a variety of locations. There's no inherent theme or subject, but I started carrying a camera on my several years ago to try to pay attention to things around me.
Branding for The Recyclery
A rebrand, in collaboration with Meg Studer of Siteations studio, of The Recyclery Collective. A bike cooperative in Chicago's Rogers Park, the new brand focuses on collaboration and the cyclical nature of rehabilitating old bicycles.
Hibou
Wine label for Vineyard Road importers. Hibou means "owl" in French, and, after a couple iterations, we settled on a simplified version of drawings from early medieval art.
Poster Design
Various flyers and posters over the year for local activism causes, including groups to resist the construction of a pipeline, and a group to make city streets safer.
The Really Big One
The final project of Wesleyan University's Typography class was hand-binding a small book. I chose The Really Big One, an article by Kathryn Schulz for the New Yorker about the massive earthquake that will one day hit the Pacific Northwest of the United States.
Vintage Vibe
Mock Project through creativebriefs.xyz for Vintage Vibe, a swim and shuffleboard club in Austin, Texas. Per the brief, "The client desires a retro-style logo that is both fun and avoids being tacky."
